AI receptionists for service businesses

Your phone stops going to voicemail.

Hisora builds AI receptionists that answer every call, book straight into your calendar, and text the people who hang up. Built for dental, med spa, legal, HVAC and real estate — on your own accounts, not ours.

Don’t take our word for it

Try to break it

The number above answers as Iris, the receptionist for Stonecrop Realty — a brokerage we invented so you can test a real agent without bothering a real business. Everything behind it is live: a real calendar, real availability, real bookings.

  • Book a showing

Give it an address, pick a time. It checks a real calendar and only offers slots that are genuinely open.

  • Call back and move it

It finds your appointment from your phone number — you never have to read out a booking reference.

  • Ask it something it shouldn’t answer

“What kind of people live in that neighbourhood?” It will refuse, tell you why, and offer you an agent instead. That refusal is the part most AI receptionists get wrong.

  • Call after 6pm Eastern

It knows the office is closed and takes a message rather than offering you a transfer nobody will answer.

The problem

Every missed call is somebody phoning your competitor next

Service businesses lose work in the fifteen minutes nobody was free to pick up the phone. The caller does not leave a voicemail. They call the next business on the list.

$50,000–$150,000a year
is what the American Med Spa Association puts revenue lost to empty chairs at, for a single clinic.
$449–$779a month
is what human answering services like Ruby publish as rates, for 50 to 100 minutes of call handling.
~35%of calls in a month
is where vendors put missed-call rates in salons and shops.

What it actually does

Not a voicemail with a nicer voice

Answers every call, 24/7
No hold music, no queue, no missed call at 7pm on a Sunday
Books into your real calendar
It reads live availability and only offers slots that exist. Different appointment types get different lengths and different staff
Reschedules and cancels
It finds the caller’s existing appointment from the number they are calling from
Texts back the ones who hang up
A missed call becomes a text within seconds, so the lead does not evaporate
Sends reminders and follow-ups
Confirmations, reminders before the appointment, follow-up after — with consent captured on the call and logged
Knows what it must not say
Never diagnoses, never quotes a price it wasn’t given, never invents an answer. It says it doesn’t know and takes a message
Hands off to a human properly
Transfers during office hours; outside them it says so plainly and takes a message
Tells you what happened
Every call logged with a transcript, whether it booked, and whether consent was given

The guardrails

The part nobody demos

An AI receptionist that books appointments is easy. One that knows when to stop is the difference between a tool and something you can leave alone with your customers.

  • An HVAC agent that hears “I smell gas” stops the booking flow, tells the caller to leave the house and call 911 from outside, and does not try to sell them a service call.

  • A real estate agent asked to describe a neighbourhood refuses on fair housing grounds, names the reason, and redirects to something genuinely useful. Answering that question is a federal violation, and the helpful answer is the illegal one.

  • A medical or legal agent never diagnoses, never advises, and never quotes a price that isn’t published.

Each of these is built and demonstrated on the channel. They are not hypothetical.

How it is built

On your accounts, not ours

Your Twilio number. Your calendar. Your CRM. If we ever stop working together, the system keeps running and you keep the keys — there is no Hisora platform to be locked out of, and no per-seat licence.

Compliance

The questions your last quote didn’t mention

Most people selling AI receptionists have never read the rules. These are the ones that decide whether your agent is legal.

  • You cannot text your customers from a new number on day one US carriers require A2P 10DLC registration first, and the campaign stage alone runs 10 to 15 days. Unregistered messages return success and silently never arrive.

  • A single upsell converts an appointment reminder into a telemarketing call which needs a different and much higher tier of consent than the one you have.

  • An AI voice is an “artificial voice” under the TCPA — the FCC ruled on this in February 2024 — and calling a mobile without consent carries statutory damages per call.

  • Consent has to be captured, logged and revocable including when somebody simply says “take me off your list” out loud to the agent.

We build the consent capture, the opt-out handling and the audit trail in from the start, and we will tell you plainly when something you want is not legal.

Everything we build, we publish

We document every build end to end on YouTube — the working parts and the parts that broke — with written build guides so you can check the work rather than take our word for it.

Six receptionists, each harder than the last:

  1. 01A dental clinic that books
  2. 02A med spa that reschedules and cancels
  3. 03A law firm that texts callers back
  4. 04An HVAC company that chases follow-ups
  5. 05A hardened build that alerts when something breaks
  6. 06A real estate brokerage built end to end in a single agentic run

FAQ

Questions people actually ask

Will callers know it’s a bot?
They’ll know they’re not talking to a person, and the agent never pretends otherwise. What they notice is that somebody picked up on the first ring at 8pm and got their appointment booked.
What happens when it doesn’t understand?
It says so, and takes a message or transfers to a human. It never guesses, and it never tells someone an appointment is booked unless the calendar confirmed it.
How long does it take?
Two to three weeks for the build itself. If you want it texting your customers, add 1–4 weeks for carrier registration — that’s a queue at the carriers, not work on our side, and anyone who tells you otherwise hasn’t done it.
What if I already have a phone system?
Usually fine. It can sit in front of what you have, or take overflow when nobody picks up.
Do I have to change my calendar or CRM?
No. It’s built around what you already use.
Who owns it?
You do. It runs on your accounts.
